Dymondwood is harder has more resin and finish in it. Its alot heavier than colorwood. Colorwood is made with the same process just less resin and finish in it which makes it lighter. Most of the laminated strikers from the big companies are made with colorwood.

color wood is lighter and turns easier and is cheaper to buy                dymondwood is heavier and harder to turn and more expensive in my opinion worth all the negatives because it flat makes a better striker! hands down....ive got a mess for sale from rutland vermont for they only sell in bulk orders .5/16"dowels for 2 pc strikers and 3/4" dowels for 1 pc strikers  jimmy schaffer 973 -479 -3690
