Ok---SOUNDS LIKE GOOD NEWS FINALLY !!!!
Adam just called me , and for the first time I heard and felt the excitement in the tone in his voice !!!!
They just met with the surgeon and he had what sounds like great news.
MIKE, THEY SAY, HAS RESPONDED VERY WELL TO THE DRAIN IN HIS LUNG AND THE MEDICATIONS FOR HIS LUNG THEY HAVE HAD HIM ON. The surgoen feels that surgery is totally unnecessary at this point due to his continued improvement from the medical treatments. Tomorrow they will install a Trach. to guarentee correct air flow to Mike during sleep. This will be slowly taken away as he continues improvement and also with therapy. Anywhere from 2-5 weeks they feel he will be totally off the Trach and back to where he was before this ordeal. Mike is still kept heavly sedated and they plan to start easing him off that also starting Monday. This is the first true hope and what the surgeons feel is a solid prognosis. Needless to say, Adams tone was elation and excitement that they may be finally turning the corner to getting Mike back home. This he said is the best case senerio and it is what the doctors are saying is going to actually happen now.
Lets keep that man and his family still in our thoughts and prayers as they may be turning the corner finally.
