An Eye For An Eye!
« on: September 17, 2010, 09:01:35 PM »
Matthew 5:38
38 "You have heard that it was said, `An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth."

What makes a Christian different from everyone else?
What makes Christianity distinct from religion?  It is grace — treating others, not as they deserve, but as God wishes them to be treated with loving-kindness and mercy.  Only the cross of  Jesus Christ can free us from the tyranny of malice, hatred, revenge, and resentment and gives us the courage to return evil with good.  Such love and grace has power to heal and to save from destruction.  Do you know the power of Christ’s redeeming love and mercy?

Does this mean that were are to be passive and let people run over us? Hurt our families? Attack our country? I could continue for a day with the obvious questions.
The answer is a resounding NO!

Matthew 7:12 states
12"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

The Principals of the two Scriptures are identical.

Next week I will look at these three principals in depth.

1. Grace should ALWAYS mold our response.
2. Our position should be well defined. (this is most people's "confusion")
3. Our Intentions should be understood without question!

Think  about it! See you next week.

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
