Eye For An Eye Part II
« on: September 24, 2010, 09:16:41 PM »
An Eye For An Eye
Matthew 5:38
38 "You have heard that it was said, `An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth."
Matthew 7:12 states
12"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

1. Grace should ALWAYS mold our response.
God gives us His Grace to enable us to demonstrate God like charachter.  Which is "undeserving" MERCY! This should always be the christians 1st responce!
Matthew 5:7  "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy."
2. Our position should be well defined. (this is most people's "confusion")
Don't deal with agressors unpreparred.  Don't leave out the uncomfortable "foundation". Don't engage in unpreparred inner turmoil over what to do! Be preparred.. Instead, think the issues all the way through and act accordingly. Strive for your understanding of these things to be as complete, as finished, as perfect as God Himself. One of Satan's easiest ways to attack a believer is to attack their inability to defend their faith or themselves. "do unto to others"...positive verb, BE PREPARRED!
3. Our Intentions should be understood without question!
Matthew 5:9 " Blessed are the 'peacemakers': For they shall be called the children of God." Notice the active, positive nature of this command. We should make sure that others understand we act not out of premeditation but out of Love and Divine responsibility! We are NOT to be the worlds "doormats". WE make peace, we don't keep the peace!!
Summed up up like this , If you do this, this is what I will do!, or, If I do this, this is what you should do to me!

Bro. Mike

I could write all day on this subject. I love God's WORD.....AMEN!!

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
