Good morning my friend, sorry N.Y. wasn't like last year for you. Can't wait for the fall to get here myself. Great news about the new puppy, which dogs are going to be the parents. Tell everybody I said hello. I'll be in touch shortly.

Sounds like your season went well. Congrat's on the harvests.  *up*

Lots of luck with the new pup. They sure are a blast to train and I bet you know just how to do it.

What's happening, Marlin. How did things go at Pete's. I hope you guys got into turkeys. Did he meet the "Werewolf"?

fred
yes the werewolf. i ment to call you and tell you about the presentation. first i ask pete to tell the story for everyone at the dinner table. then i presented him with the "werewolf" yelper you so finely crafted. if you took pictures please post so others can see. anyway everyone there had a big time about the story and the yelper. i think that call is priceless. you know it will set on the desk for everyone that comes to turkey trot to see and of course ask the question "what's this all about".
for others to understand i'll tell the story as quick as i can. we were all setting telling stories one night and i told a joke about the strangest thing you had ever seen in the woods. after the joke people started telling real stories and my good friend pete clare tells us that his first turkey dog "cutter" was chased by an animal one day that pete discribed as a werewolf. that set us all on fire and the more we laughed the more serious he became about the werewolf story. we were so unmerciless to him that he finely clamed up and would not talk about it any more. pete has no idea what the werewolf was but that was twenty years ago and he still gets that look in his eye that you know he saw something strange in the woods that day. that is if you can be polite and not start laughing like the gang of heathens he had around him that evening.
anyway fred it was a big hit. thanks for making the call i'm sure it will be treasured for years to come. sooner

I'm glad he liked it, Marlin. I can imagine it will be the topic of many discussions in the future.

Didn't he say that his hunting partner that day was a senator or congressman and that they could be called to verify the story?

I'll try to get a picture of the call posted. I know I took one but seems that it wasn't a real good one. We'll see.

Finally got the picture up.  The second wingbone is Marlin's.  I made both of these from a bird that Marlin took at Turkey Trot Acres in the spring of 2008.  Obviously the top wingbone is the Werewolf wingbone that I made for Pete Clare.
