hello all. i'm done and the reality of going back to work has set in. did not get to hunt as much this spring only ohio and new york. hunted with many different folks and the birds were pretty good to us. i had 8 birds killed the first 11 days of ohio's season. managed to harvest 3 more before it was over and was able to hunt myself a few days. i did manage to harvest my own 2 turkeys in ohio which many times i never get to do but honestly i would rather take someone any day than to hunt by myself.
found the last week in ohio to be tough. not much gobbling on the roost or later in the day. we then went to new york on the 16th of may and found the same thing there. never heard a bird on day one and heard one bird gobble one time at a 1/2 mile the next day. that afternoon it rained and when we scouted some fields that evening there were prenty of gobblers in the spots we were hunting just had a case of the shut mouthed. the last morning i managed to get one killed so that ended my spring hunting.
now the long hot summer and counting the days till oct. when i can take my dogs and go to the woods.
