I would say to stay away from any bow with an axle-axle length less than 35". If you want a forgiving shooting bow you need a brace height of at least 7". I would check out Hoyt or PSE.
i agree about going with a longer ata and a 7"+bh. plenty of good bows out there and you need to figure out what suits you and what you are looking for. i wouldn't get caught up in the fps, as you have dl that is plenty long enough. you need to decide if you want a single cam, cam and a half etc. timing issues is one thing to consider with bows other then single cams. you will be able to get some great deals on last years bows, now that the 2010 lines have come out.
i'd shoot as many as possible and don't just look at the matthews, bowtech's, pse's etc., but also look at the elite's, strother, athens archery etc. you can get a ton of good feedback over on archery talk, if you can sift through the brand loyal folks and their opinions.
