Above my Callmaker Bench
« on: January 03, 2015, 12:19:23 PM »
With all the rain the last couple of days, I have been working on calls.  This little fellow comes out from his space in the billets to warm himself close to my shop light.  My daughter says that he is most likely eating brown recluse spiders in my wood pile.  Hope he will stay around and give me some company, at least until Nashville.  -  Mr. E

I was thinking of calling him Dundee after Crocodile Dundee.  Seems he used to refer to flat out, like a Lizard drinking in one of his movies.  Thats how I have to work on these calls before Nashville.

Just hope he doesn't have a big brother lurking in the shadows. That's a great shot!

My wife wants me to kill them.  I can't convince he of how beneficial they are.  I just grab the broom, take a swing and purposefully miss.

Dundee has moved a couple of billets lower in the pile, and is sleeping in this AM.

That is pretty cool John!!  Definetly needs a name!  ;) I have a little sparrow that found a way into my shop thru one of the many cracks.  It comes and goes but it has learned to hang around the inside wood pile (I heat with wood only) and when it gets warm the little buggy boos start to move around on the wood and it snatches them up. It seems to be adjusting to the saws and such pretty well... ;D

Bring him with you to Music City, John, and I will bring my chipmunk, "Red."    "Alvin" passed in November of last year at age 5, and "Red" is very lonely...
We will start our own zoo there in booth 324.

Dundee is not moving very fast, I went out yesterday in this cold and he was staying pretty close to the light for warmth.  I have seen snakes climb up in trees in the later part of the duck season on islands in the Ms. River to get up out of the really high water.  Kinda lethargic. Mr. E
