a Shadetree Turpin
« on: October 04, 2013, 10:31:51 AM »
Opened me a package from Ohio the other day and none other than this little babe was inside.....Its a Shadetree -parquet turpin. She's a real player too. Subtle yelps that will wind up also, great clucks and one heck of a gobble let me say. She's really sharp and easy on the eyes also. Take a close look at how Bob creatively did the inlays on the body and the lid. Maybe Bob can elaborate on how many pieces of wood he used to make up this parquet--I think I remember it was like 42 different pieces. Thanks Bob for a great call...

Whoa nelly!!! That is one cool caller right there.  The first thing I noticed was the interesting inlay work and knowing full well how much work that was *aah*  Ole Bob though is a master at making pieces fit together just right and with a great design here again.  Don't know much about the walnut but I have a good idea where that Maple came from.  A fine call all around from the Shadetree.

Lt, you have an astute eye. It is indeed purpleheart. I wanted a walnut lid but didnt trust it would sound good so i used something i knew would bite well on the maple. Thanks for all the nice comments guys ! This was my first parquet Turpin and I wanted the boxcall sensei to have it. I hope she makes its way into your vest sometime bud !
