Yes I'm the same Porter... I've taken off most of the 3 weeks during MO season.  I wish I could say I shot that bird, but I did call that bird in for my friend who shot it.

I'm tagged out in MO and while I can say I shot a dandy... I wish my bird was that nice!!!!

He weighed 22lbs, 1 1/2" spurs on both sides and a double beard.  11.5" and 7" beard.   Our weather has been horrible here and yesterday was probably the finest day we've had in the woods.

I've been thinking back a lot and I realized, I always do better in MO when the weather is terrible.  I'm not sure why, but I do.  I've been wet, cold, miserable and thought more about deer hunting this Spring than turkey hunting.

I've witnessed 5 birds die in front of me this year.  I've doubled twice and had never doubled before in my life...

Ole Darleen and me head out on Saturday for KS and we are both ready for some Rio action.  I just hope the weather cooperates!

My MO hunting is done after yesterday.  I was able to relive a lot of child hood memories.  I hunted where I started learning to turkey hunt with the guy that got me started.   Me and him are so busy, we hardly get to hang out anymore.  It was good for both of us.  i laughed when we got setup and he goes, oh by the way, I've called plenty of birds in for you... so I didn't bring any calls with me  *lol*

Of course a hunt with my buddy Jason, wouldn't be complete without a bull/cow chase and we had several of those  *fall*

After next week, I'll be ready for some fall turkey hunting!!!  I've heard several kee kees in the woods this Spring...  I might be guilty of playing the kee keeing game too :P

it's greened up more in your part of the country than it is over here. Nice bird. *cheers*
