Nice box Bob. Lignum vitae is an interesting wood. Not only is it the most dense wood known, it is the hardest wood known. It was used for the belaying pins and deadeyes on the USS Constitution and many other sailing ships rarely being replaced because of its density and natural oils. Because it was self-lubricating and extremely wear resistant, it was used extensively to make propeller bearings for ships until 1960 when sealed bearings in white metal were introduced. Just a little wood trivia.
