Called my buddy this morning to see if I could still get the pup. I am going when I get off work to pick her up. She is a lab mix like ol Fletch but she is yellow and Fletch was brown. I remarried sence my wife died 10 years ago and Fletch took right to Kathy and she took right to him. Kathy works out of town and has not been home sence Fletch died. Fletch always meets her at the car when she pulls in, on Friday eve. This Friday when she pulls in I am going to be standing there with (our) new lab mix pup. Maybe she won't start crying. I am not replacing Fletch I am just getting me a new buddy.

I'm sorry to hear about Fletch, but I'm SOOOO glad you followed the sign and took your buddy up on his offer.  I truly believe it was meant to be!  I know Gypsy will be a great member of your family and I hope she learns to be a skilled turkey-dog, as well (might want to put a camo jacket on that yellow coat, though ;D).

I am working with her now trying to get her to lay under a cheap wal-mart hang blind. She wants me to love on her and rub her belly, while she chews on anything she can get in her mouth. The wife and I are going to our cabin this Saturday to do some work, and we are going to take her. This will be a 114 mile ride for her, her longest yet. Our bow season is in but I am not going to hunt. I will hunt Friday and thin Monday here at home. I have a flock of of young turkey using the ridge my cabin is on. I will walk the ridge with Gypsy and see if I can get her in them. Right now she will sit still while I call on a call. I was worried she would bark when I called but she does not. She does shake her head when I kee. Work and time with her things will work out and if she does not make a good turkey dog she will be a good pet. I don't figure she will be the trukey dog Fletch was but if she is 1/2 as good, she will be a good one.
