I've never done it. Don't know if I ever will. If I had enough tags (I do) that killing a flying turkey wouldn't take away a chance to kill a called bird and I felt like it at the time I might do it. It all just depends on what I felt like doing.

It's my policy not to as in my book it's just not turkey hunting. With that being said I wouldn't knock someone else for doing it.

I never have. I asked this question on another forum and was lamblasted for asking it!! My thought was it would be more rewarding busting a flock them calling them back up for the kill.

I was told to go read some traditional books on turkey hunting, and I would find out that it was just one of the ways that was excepted. I in no way criticized anyone for shooting a turkey on the wing!! That being said if my dog busts up a flock and a bird flies over my head and I have a clear shot I will take it.

To me a dead bird is a dead bird.  I will not shoot a bird off of roost in the morning, but if it flies up after day break...  I have a feeling I would shoot it.

Each harvest is a trophy to me.  I'm not good at wingshooting period, so that's more what would cause me to refrain!

Might have to do with who was doing the asking and how it was asked. Course you'd rather pull the poor me card. Predictable.

I'm pretty sure I already said my opinion. Does Georgia even have a fall season?

do birds not fly in the spring?

Adam thats just the reponce I would expect from you!! There was nothing wrong with the question when I asked it. It was just a honest question that I wanted answered in a civil way!!

I am not now or have I ever played the poor me card, and my reponce to this tread in no way shows that now!!! You are making a fool of yourself but your just to ignorant to see it!!

anything positive you'd like to add to this discussion, or are you just taking orders at this point?

Thank you Ron.  Glad others see him for what he is.

everyones opinion and you have to jump in and put a negative tone to it

I have never tried a flying shot . I have never had one fly away from my setup .

If , If I fool a bird ,and he comes lookin' and gets close enough , then flies ,,,I might take the shot. That's a thin might though . He would have to be flyin' from my right to my left ,,,,,with a clear shot at the head .

But if I ain't fooled him with my callin' , he can stand around all day for all I care ,,I won't be shootin a bird I ain't tricked.
