Georgia is now a memory---last bird of the season
« on: May 16, 2011, 12:52:38 PM »
Well, stayed out of my Goergia properity while a guy was trying to get a first time young lady a bird...they finally gave up Saturday afternoon. I was cleared to get after em again with only one and a half days left in the season. Found 2 gobblers after noon on Sunday that were gobbleing sporadically but not hot you would say hot at all. Sat down and waited them out for them to get on the move. Well, after about 2 hours of fighting off the sleep and not calling, they finally decided to head to a different lead. It was on. Made the first setup, and they gobbled decent but still had moving on their mind. Took a walk about and got in front of them and here they came in , quiet as a mouse, but they knew where I was. They saundered right on to the flat I was setting vigil at. That ended the 2011 season and boy am I gonna miss all the great times and gobbeling until next season.
Good luck to all the lucky ones that are still hunting !!!

Jeff, you had an unbelievable season.

I honestly enjoyed just logging on every day to see what else you had killed. It was freaking nuts. Congrats to you man on a great season and a job well done.
