Ole Bruce and I went on a hunt together last week and had a great time. Hard to imagine eating any better than we did on this hunt. We had a crawfish boil with whole potatoes, corn on the cobb, mushrooms, and sausage one night. We had a crappie, morel mushroom, and potato fry one day for lunch. We had Shrimp Fettucini one meal, gumbo and rice one meal, and deer chili one meal, not to mention the pork loin, Boston Butt, and chickens I had smoked and taken on the trip. We also had some fine deserts. A Cajun from Louisiana was in camp and the guy could flat out cook.
Here are a couple pics of a great bird Bruce killed. It weighed 25 1/2 lbs, had a 10 3/4 inch beard, and about 3/4 inch spurs. Hard to imagine a 2 year old this big but there were some other two year old 25+ lb pound birds taken on this hunt. Bruce killed his bird in the afternoon and the pics were taken at night. Sorry about their quality.
