I would pay 125.00 on up for a custom call, but I would have to play it first.. I know you can send custom calls back if you don't like them, I have...but some I keep also .. I have found just because its a custom call doesn't mean theres a turkey in every pot!

Winner winner tukey dinner!!!

I'd rather pay $250 for a call that sounded like a turkey than pay $50 for a "custom" call that didn't. And I promise you that there are TONS of customs that are terrible when it comes to sound...in fact, the vast majority of customs fall in that category.

you're right on there mike,......play one first and know what you are getting, and make sure that you are able to send it back if you don't like it and try another one.  There are lots of different ways of running 'em and still get good sound.  the inconsistency of the mass produced calls is unavoidable,...yet they still put them on the shelf.  I have some great sounding "mass produced" calls, and they are as real as you can get (both boxes and pots),...but unfortunatley the next 50 i tried fell into the catagory you are talking about mike.......you are right,... sometimes (emphasis on the sometimes)there is a big difference between building a true sounding turkey call and being an awesome wood worker.

You can own better sounding callers and ez to play from a lot of previous NWTF winners/champs, like Blodgett, Tyree, Parks, Harrison, Stanford, previous names mentioned ..............and so many more for less than $75.
I owned a couple of his so called top of da line callers and they did't make the cut. Besides that, what this guy has done to humiliate and pee off the likes of Parks, Tyree and more, I have nothing to good to say about him anymore....or his callers. If you have one and like it and hunt with it, and it calls in turkeys that is all that counts.
