Recently receive this custom Pot/Striker and Trumpet call set from Douglas Van Helden.
Saw his personal calls on a thread at AT last year (loved them) and contacted Douglas about building me a set.
He doesn't usually build them to sell (mostly builds them for family and friends) but I finally talked him into building a Pot/Striker combo and a Trumpet all from matching black walnut.
The pot call has a copper surface over glass with a carved image of an Old Tom roosting in a tree with antique copper background on the opposite side.
The pot has a deep chamber which results in a very powerful sound.
I already have pot calls in slate, aluminum, and obsidian, so, wanted something different this time.
The matching walnut Trumpet has a matching copper mouthpiece with copper band.
Douglas included a lanyard too which looks really nice.
I think Douglas did a wonderful and beautiful job building this matching set of calls.
Loved his idea for the carving of the Old Tom roosting in the tree.
Like with many other calls, the pictures do not do the set justice !
