Does the NWTF ever post a in depth list of call placement? I entered 6 and I know I didn't win, but how or when or if can I find out how I did? I'd like to know what they are looking at and where my calls was weaker or stronger? I couldn't be there for the judging. I'd be happy if I were in the top million or so  *up*

I have not seen one. Maybe Bill can answer!

At least there are some names up there. 1-6th place. Thanks. Does anyone know if they NWTF sends the call makers anything though or do you have to ask. As a newer call maker I'd like to see what they liked and disliked about my calls. I have only been turning since September on a regular basis and am trying to improve. Thanks!!!

the judges will each pick a handfull of calls that make their cut,...then those calls are judged by ALL judges and scored,..those are the only calls that recieve a total score,......it is the best and fastest process,....we would still be there if they had to score every caller,.....SO the goal is just to make the cut,......Every call is played by every judge at the beginning,...........I say this all the time,..but i'll say it again,....Don't put alot of emphasis on those ribbons, just continue to do your own thing and talk with other call makers,...and MOST of all remember what a WILD TURKEY sounds like.  That is what we are all striving to duplicate the best we can,.....this gets lost far to often,....all turkeys sound different, and all calls sound different,..but be proud of what you build.  Every year there are calls outside of the "cut" that have true turkey sound and deserve a first place ribbon, but the first place ribbon winners deserve it to,.......so i guess what i'm saying is ,...just enjoy the process and the fun,...you can still learn and get better with the help of everyone,....don't worry about those ribbons. LISTEN TO REAL TURKEYS.

Oh the ribbons I mean they are nice, but I agree with what you said, if my people like them and they bring in a turkey that is the key. I am just looking for feedback. I mean every call I have seen here on the site gets great reviews. As a call maker I can't get better unless I know what the problem might be. That it what I am looking for in my calls. I only want to improve and sound like a turkey....instead of acting like one. Thank you for the input on the contests. I know there is some politics involved too. This is such a fun hobby too! Thanks.

I wasn't implying that there was politics involved,....all i was trying to say is that there are SO many good calls there and there can only be one winner.  Listen to tree top turkeys and Denny Gulvas's CD's and adjust your calls to them,..the ribbons and trophies will follow.

I agree with you. I also agree that the ribbons are not the reason we do the calls! I'll check out that CD- Thanks!
