Prefrefrence is Tung oil (5-7 coats) or Walnut oil and a little shallack mixed (2-4 coats) but if time if a concern 1 coat of tung oil and a finish coat of Minwax Polyurthane!

most of the time i use teak oil then a couple coats of minwax wood polish followed by carnuba wax finish...this leaves kind of a satin finish instead of gloss...if some one wants a gloss i use tru oil or a thined spar mix...i personly dont like a real shinny finish and deet doesent like it much...lol...so far with the wax finish the deet hasnt affected it or at least no one has told me of any...also the consumer can put a coat of wax on periodically to help keep the call lookin good and protect it from the weather....that is just my ways right or wrong dont know...

I use Armor Coat lacquer spay for the most part. It brings the grain and color out of the wood like tung oil, without the bother. If someone wants a dull finish, I use tung oil followed by deft lacquer spray.

I lie to use tounge oil and follow that up when you are finished with however many coats with Deft  Satain spray. I use #0000 steel wood to wipe the deft to slick it up and to knock off any glare it has.
