tried somethin new...

i happen to stumble across this site and talked to the owner bout tryin out some of his products...he was thinking bout making the blanks in sizes that callmakers could use..right now he just has pen blanks...however he did make a couple blanks for me to try out...so let me know what ya think...
this is big leaf maple burl cap and blue with green metalic acrylic...its called burls and swirls...it has a bufalo horn mouth piece and .270 ferule...


these are not the best pics...gona try and get some outside in the am with a better camera... *lol*

the pics suck to say the least... *lol*...it looks alot better in the sunlight...also the blank was a lil bigger than i normally use and i turned alot of the acrylic out...

it is not to bad...basically it is stabilized burl...the only problem i had with it was turning it down to thin..the first one i tried separated on me...i think is was a combo of to thin and heat..this one is a lil thinker than i would normally turn it and i done it in steps...
