What are your best steps for finishing Bocote?

I still like wiping down with denatured alcohol and then when dry using multiple coats of Tung Oil!

G, A benzene wipe should work as well. And should hold the clean surface as long as you don't sand or touch it again.

I would finnish it the same way I do cocobolo, one coat of lacquer sanding sealer then use whatever your favorite polyurethane is.
The lacquer sanding sealer will cure to the bacote in about half hour and will accept most all polyurethane finnishes.
