The hunt'n was rough on the home front this year. I had a very hard time finding any workable birds, but I sure had fun anyway. I managed to find one during the first week that would gobble once are twice on the limb, fly down with hens and shut-up! I had four weeks to kill him and kept the pressure minium. He somehow disappeared completly....maybe lead poison...who knows. I had heard a shot one morning close on the bordering property and wondered if the bird I had been hunting had moved over in that direction and had died. I think he was missed... because this guy was all alone about 10:30am that morning.

I spent several mornings trying to get this little knothead on one...even played hokey from school twice this year to go hunting with his dad in La, and Ms,

I think we might have covered a little bit to much ground this morning.....

I took a nap too.. But he don't know it....

I took a couple of weeks of bouncing around from place to place, but I finally found a couple of birds that were willing to work after the hens went to setting. I heard some serious gobbling one morning at a place I had not heard a bird all season. I found two long beards together that were actually willing to die....
and one did.

Kade and I spent the next two mornings after working nights, trying to kill the other bird..just did'nt happen. He reminded me that it had been two years since he had killed one. There's always next year little buddy we will get on them again....
