I have had an awesome week chasing turkeys. Thursday morning i yelped up a hen and gobbler and missed

. Yesterday I called up 6 diffrent gobblers. the first i messed up by moving, the second was a little too far. At 11 i called up 2 jakes and a longbeard it was too thick to shoot then another gobbler runs in and beats the crap out of all 3 of those birds. Long story short i didnt get a shot
This morning it was raining quite a bit. I decided to sit on a field. No gobbling was heard. I heard a crow cawing in the woods to my right, I always get ready when i hear the crows. 2 hens came out about 150 yards away soon after a gobbler stepped out.
I watched them feed and waited for them to feed over a knoll.I got my buddy Smokeys cane yelper out. I let out 3 soft yelps, a cluck and waited a few seconds and 3 more soft yelps. 10 minutes later the hens came back in sight. A few minutes later I spotted the gobbler 40 yards (give or take) to my left. I was a little gun shy from my miss the other day and said i would wait.He raised his head and i said screw it.
Smokey's wife picked a four leaf clover a couple weeks ago. I have had it with me all week. This bird is dedicated to them!! thank you!!
here is the end result: 9 3/4 paint brush, 1 inch sharp spurs and he weighed 20 lbs.
