Thanks for the kind words guys, and for the stories Charlie! That made my day,,,, bears will charge, swat bushes, usually and lucky for you it was apparantly a bluff, interestingly cubs will exhibit the same instinctive behavior as their mother which is cute when they are cubs, including teeth clacking, a bit worrisome when dealing with a full grown bear. When they come in to a call they are usually on high alert and ready to defend and attack.
I made three more of these, lenghtened two of them by 3/4", bladed them a touch more and have the sound I am looking for. Hopefully no one gets hurt, mauled, or shoots a sow that has hidden her cubs looking for the one in trouble.
