This adventure started in a very remote creek bottom in Southern Georgia. As the sun came up we were greeted by about a dozen owls...As we made our way into the creek we stumbled upon "Water" "Water" "Water" everywhere!! All the rain has everything flooded! Soooo, after crossing three rushing "Torrents" we were finally about, umhh, a mile away from the turkeys...we sat down several times but they kept moving further away..But soon enough we were close enough for them to hear us "I mean Joseph" calling to them...It didn't take long for the sweet sound of "Stumpy's" bronze glass in Joseph's custom made "SMOKIN' A.. GLASS" (thats the name of the call) call to entice the "Little Fellers" to come on in... And to say the least the 3-1/2" MAG Remington 1187 Did the job...And here is the proof...Check out the pics...
AND......I was looking at the "Trijicon" scope and remembered an article not to long ago on yahoo about "Trijicon" putting bible verses on the serial numbers on the scopes...And sure enough, this one had it too...it read (2COR4:6) which reads...
"For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
We estimated that he weight "Exactly" 21 lbs. and when i got him to the truck it felt like 61 lbs. He had 1" spurs "like needles", and a 10" beard. And the last photo is the official "First Turkey" headress!!!
