Spalted Poplar and Walnut
« on: January 31, 2010, 02:49:47 PM »
Here is another finished up one. Alot of people just don't pay much attention to po[plar---but they always make a real good call. This one has a great sound--ggreat roll has a touch of rasp to boot !!!

Awesome looking call. I love the spalted look. I have told some of the guys on this forum one of the best sounding boxes I have ever heard was made with walnut and poplar.

Great lookin' call Jeff.  Poplar is one of my favorite box woods, mainly with Cherry, but Walnut is great also. It just has that turkey tone that I like in a call.
