Need something unique for the wife's Christmas?
« on: December 02, 2013, 03:34:33 PM »
Here is something new that I'm doing on the rose engine.  It's called "guilloche", and it is a lost art.  A simple explanation is that the technique is hand engraving with the aid of the rose engine.  Here are some sample photos.  The first is a 1 3/4" pendant done in Argentium silver, second is a closeup of the pendant.  Lines are 0.015" apart and 0.002" deep on this one.

The second is a 2" pendant done in Argentium silver with a kind of rope pattern border and a sunburst center.  I like the shape of the open spaces on this one.

This one is a 2 1/2" Afzelia burl pendant with an inlaid 1 3/4" Argentium silver medallion that has a flower petal design.

Earrings are also available.  Other patterns are available.  You can find me at

Thanks for looking
Danny

Thanks Bill,

A belt buckle is possible if it is wood with medallion inlays.  Currently I am only set up to hold circular pieces.  I can think of some cool combinations.
