If I was a betting man, I would say the one on the left.  Based on the description written in the article that you provided in the other thread, which was very informative I might add....

"But it was also his fascination with trumpet calls that eventually led to a patented call. In the early spring of 2005, he began experimenting with a combination of the tube and trumpet, and the results were interesting. Essentially, he connected a small tube call to the body of a trumpet and named it the "Strumpet.""

 *cheers*

They both are very cool looking calls though!  *up*

Neither look like a tube call to me, aside from the latex on the mouthpiece, but very nice looking indeed!

You would be incorrect, they are both strumpets, as described by Craig in writing on both calls.

You may also notice, that the short strumpet is dated 2005.....the same year he received his patent. It is also marked M/P, makers prototpye.

Bill,

As many shows as I've done with Craig and as many people, as I know, that have one of these, I've never heard one of them. How do they sound? More like a tube call, a trumpet, or just have their own sound.

Well, they are a tube call and as with any tube call, it's all in what latex you use and how you stretch it. Tube calls are in my opinion, the most versatile call you can have. A well tuned Strumpet, in the hands of someone who can use it, is pure death.

Very True.

I am still wondering how anyone could consider this, or mistake it as, a Trumpet ?

When there is a Flared bell added to the end of an extended length tube call, you will be treading into Breads Strumpet area, and doing so knowingly if one is a Call Maker who has been around a while and Familiar with Cornbread's Strumpet n Biscuit Tube calls.
I prefer the Biscuit myself over the Strumpet, but if One has ever heard a good Tube player on a Strumpet, you would understand the " Strumpet ", and why she was named so.

Just so everyone is clear on the name Craig used for his call..."Strumpet". It had nothing to do with a cross between a trumpet and a tube call. Craig chose the name based on an old term from Shakespear....strumpet. In this case, a loose, hen turkey.

Strumpet

Another term for whore, first used by Shakespeare to describe loose women.

"Thou art a strumpet!"
