Oldest Son's last youth season
« on: April 20, 2013, 09:35:28 PM »
Ended with a BANG.  We moved to try and get on this bird from daylight until just after 8. He was the only bird gobbling this morning so the trek was on.  We crossed three ridges to get to the same one he was on then had to skirt around and get up on the point for what I thought would be his best chance at seeing this bird.  Once we got set down it was 8:10 and he pulled the trigger at 8:18.  It was a long haul back to the truck but worth every step.
Stats:  25#, 10.875" beard and 1.25" spurs.

It has been such a pleasure to watch him grow into the woodsman and marksman he is today.

And no timber rattlers on this hunt!
