Competition grade locater calls
« on: October 31, 2009, 10:22:05 AM »
Just finished up a matched set of crow calls and an owl hooter.  I used purpleheart, wenge, maple for the crow calls with hard maple spacers. The owl hooter was done out of Paduak, purpleheart, walnut, with maple accents.  The box call was done out of walnut ,poplar, paduak.

I had started that box when my good friend Lee "frozen crow" Smith was up at my shop, I hope it makes him proud.   I have been making glued style boxes for 20 + years, and wanted to start making the solid block calls (very few).
thanks for looking

Hey Gregg,

Great looking calls.  Looks like you've been reading Ed Glenn's book.  I love those wavy laminates. *up*
