Been hunting alot latley, well guess ya could say about every day

. Got the opportunity today to go with my good friend and call maker Brian Watts today. We saddled up the buggy and headed for the hills of Georgia to make the most of a beautiful day. Daylight greeted us not too good as we had picked the area we heard nothing in at the majic 15 minutes...

....so we bailed. Hit a few listening spots and were greeted with more of the same---nothing. Finally we were in the right place when one hit some 300 yds below us--we were off with grins on our face. We sat down and after 30-45 minutes of waiting on another gobble to know where to move to, we gave up on the courtesy gobble that bird gave us to suck us down there. We were moving again. Finally we stopped at the right place at the right time.,,when one hammered on his own in 150yds of us. We slipped in on him and set up. I pulled out a Lonnie Sneed Hot Hen slate and began the attraction. He gobbled immediatlly at us, so I gave him a little more of what he liked so----2 gobbled at us then. It was on, BUT we only had one gun. A few calls later and steady gobbeling at Lonnie Sneeds slate, they were in our face gobbeling looking for the HOT HEN that was serenading them. Ole Brian laid the smack down on the big bird let me say---he was a actor and I loved every minute of the flash hunt as we call it. Gotta say--this hunt was about as memorable for me as watching one of my girls roll one.
Congrats on the grand bird my friend....many more for ya this season friend.
Brian with his longbeard...
