Ms Nasty
« on: May 11, 2012, 03:11:04 PM »
I have never "named" a caller for myself for what ever reason. I did start in 1991 and would sign callers I put together myself and felt it would Spit Feathers.... or was the best sound I could make... "Killer". This would mean it had all turkey in it to my ears.

One of the members here called me up wanting a WT Box and was interested in a particular sound. I told him to wait because Albert was sending me 4 callers. I was able to find "that sound". Out of the 4 was one that is truly unique. Had nothing to do with the tuning but everything to do with the wood. Anytime you use natural materials the sound is really up to mother nature.

This Box was without question the raspiest box I had ever run and was All Turkey. I thought of one person who would really appreciate such a caller with a "unique voice". This is where I just had to name it...and sign it... Ms Nasty.

So now when I sign a Box they will be a Ms Nasty..... and still "Killer" on the friction pots. Here is Ms Nasty #1.

Ben Lee said turkeys mate to procreate once and the rest of the time it's for fun... *aah* Ms Nasty is ALL Fun  *up*

It does not get any better than this. I got an email today that said  his WT Paul box was one of his most prized possessions. He had killed 8 Turkeys with it this spring and called up his sons First turkey with it in Texas.

This is my youngest son's first turkey killed this spring in Texas on the first day using the box call. The box call is one of my most prized possessions. Once he gobbled off the roost a few purrs with the call brought him into gun range. He came into full strut and I hit cluck to make him look up and stretch that neck then boom he was down. My son was shaking all over he was so excited.

Thanks again,

Jack.

Gorgeous call. Coming from Albert I know it is definitely top shelf.

Mike Battey of WildTalker Game Calls LLC says:
"Albert is an unpretentious man, almost to a fault. Has never sought fame or desire to be in the limelight. Yet Albert is one of the few people in the game call business who is a true instrument maker. This goes beyond an art or craft. It's what every hunter wants…… the TURKEY in the turkey caller. Without that sound it would just become a pretty piece of woodwork. I watched ( and acquired ) Albert's callers as the years went by as he perfected his skill to include numerous variations of wood. As a call collector and student of call making history, I remember calling Albert about making a caller out of Holly and Ebony as mentioned by Henry Davis writings. The caller quickly became a favorite of mine and many others as well.
After starting WildTalker Game Calls I contacted Albert to make a caller worthy of my ( and his) standard and sound quality. There was no one else I would have chosen. We discussed wood options. My suggestion was to use Snake wood and Holly. Tom Turpin used snake wood as the lid of his famous Hen Box and seemed to be worth a try. The problem Albert ran into was not because it was one of the most expensive and rare woods in the world  but the right dimensions to craft the callers. Being sold by the ounce by some, controlling waste was paramount. The question both of us had, would the extra cost to the turkey hunter be in the Sound the caller produced.
When I received  the prototype in the mail it exceeded my expectations. It had the distinctive Sound and Look I was wanting for the WildTalker Brand. A combination of two woods that would produce it's own unique Turkey Sounds and justify the cost. After getting my caller I took in the woods to do the my favorite job…… known as field testing : )  I am happy to report it was the last thing a sharp-spurred old Low Country swamp turkey heard.
Every caller Albert makes will have the Sound that hunters demand. I am proud to call him "friend" and it's that combination you will find in the WildTalker / Paul box caller.

Albert is making the last 4 and will send them to me next week. ( others sold ) One is sold which leaves 3. I have no idea when he can get the right snakewood for more. Hopefully will for next spring season. Maybe Ms Nasty # 5 will be in this batch  *up*

Albert is a great call builder and an even greater person,...I'm glad to call him my friend and love to admire his work.  I killed a pile (and i mean a pile) of gobblers with my henry davis box call,..i'll never be without that call.
