I have told a lot of you how much our turkey population is down in my part of the state. In 4 days hunting I heard one gobble and one gunshot and it was mine. This ole boy came in strutting and drumming silently from 150 yards out in a field to my Chuck Anderson Jane long box and to a Supreme Call Girl being run by and Ipe striker from Steve Torman. It took him 30 minutes to cover the 150 yards. A hen ran in between us and almost spoiled the show. She was 5 yards away from me when I pulled the trigger on the BPS 10 gauge. This was my first kill with the 10 gauge and hopefully will not be my last. The gobbler was 30 yards and coming whenever I shot. He weighed 22 lbs 2 oz, had an 11-inch beard, and 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 inch spurs. A good 3 year old bird for Arkansas.
