Real Wild Turkey Audio
« on: February 29, 2012, 02:03:05 PM »
FYI....... WildTalker is producing a New Spittin Feathers Turkey CD. I can only put an hour of audio on it. Just asking for some suggestions because I have such a large library. What "sounds" do you guys want on it? I was thinking to put the Real Wild sounds that sound like a Box, Tube, Trumpet.....

I am inclined to Not do much talking or narrating. But am thinking about taking "some" of the sounds and then "me" reproduce that same sound on a Box, Tube, Trumpet..... you get the idea.

I know most of you call makers love to have real turkeys to keep ears Tuned as you Tune your callers. That I will do.

The price of CD's has gone down. If you guys think it would be better....... I could make a 2 CD pack and get 2 hours of audio and it would only retail for 15.00.

What do you guys think you and the Hunting public need or want?

Mike,

The one thing I've found wrong with audio of turkeys is the simple fact, that it's a muiltitude of turkey talk....Having so many turkeys talking at one time, makes it very difficult to isolate one hen for practicing your calling. Hearing them is great, but not very good for practicing ....

I'm in favor of the talking of spring hens. Especially the soft talk..IE: the walking yelp,& purrs and clucks....Cutting would be another item of interest for me.... fly downs, too....One can never hear enough QUALITY turkey talk....

On a side note,  I be glad to buy some footage of anything fall related in turkey talk.......Kee-kee's kee-kee runs and so forth....

I agree Zummer! And I have plenty of it. More single turkeys without too much back ground sounds!

Let me explain again. Not a 2 hour CD but 2 CD's in one case. Volume 1 and 2 in the same package.

I would go for the 2 CD pack, as long as there was also some fall calling in there too.

I agree... It would also help one notice the different inflections a hen puts into her calling when talking with a longbeard.  I've heard many a yelping sequence start out "flat,"  a bird gobble and then she cut, and put a pinch of "excitement" into the rest of the yelps.  Little nuances like these can be the difference in killing one and not killing one IMO.

I agree with this.. I love TTT, but sometimes I find myself hearing a hen yelp, and than going where did she go.. TTT 3 has done a good job of this on their second CD Turkey Trax.. Another good one is HS Real Talk DVD/CD but the HS is just so short..

I tend to get more out of video than just audio.. I believe looking at the hens body language can say alot about the context she is putting the calling into, maybe its just me.. But with that being said I will add any quality turkey audio or footage to my library of it..

I personally would not subject the audio to hens that sound like a specific type of caller.. I agree certain hens have a trumpet sound or box sound, but I want hens to listen too and than try to duplicate that hen with any type of calling device. Its kinda like when folks give the compliment thats a good sounding box, or pot when the only true compliment is that sounds like a turkey regardless of device.

So many options of what to do. I totally agree with Zumer. More single birds to better pin down that sound.  Enough interest for a spring CD and a fall CD in the 2 CD set??  Another sequence I would like to hear and think mite be interesting is a hen - gobbler exchange. That is the real hen calling in response to the gobbler and what SHE does to get him fired up. And hearing him really get rocking in response to her excitement.
