Title: Osage/Cypress
Post by: Blackfalcon on December 12, 2009, 03:19:19 PM: I know some of you have been waiting patiently to see these, and here are the first few in this combo, Osage over Cypress. This Cypress was sent to me by a member of the forum, and is some very special wood. It was submerged in the Mississippi River for many, many years, then dredged out and milled around 1810, in Louisiana.
I made a call out of it with a Walnut striker, and liked the sound. Bulldogmikey called me and wanted to hear it with an Osage striker, so I put one on and played it, and he liked the sound of that combo, which is now known as the "Bulldog Mikey Special." I have a few more of these to make, and am still perfecting the sound,not an easy combo, so please bear with me!
A special thank you to Al Shoemaker for all his help, Lord knows I need it from time to time! ;D
Another note the very special Osage came from Lee Youngblood's farm,out of Selma, Alabama

Still working on it Al, made me an osage mallet to chisel her out, should have it done by turkey season,,, ??? ??? wait a minute,, I thought you were making that one for me?? ??? ???
