I sent Porter a PM and told him I would head it up since we have rules in place from last year. I have not heard back from him yet. He would have to add a sub-board or whatever he calls it for Turkey Contest 2012. I think it was fun for most of the teams last year. We need to get something in place pretty quick so we can see who all wants to play and figure out the teams.

Would you consider a sign up thread where you have a dead line to sign up, then possibly use a computer generated program to pick your teams randomly?
Apologizing:  does not always mean you are wrong and the other person is right.  It just means that you value your relationship more than your ego.

I think a couple guys on here wanted to keep the same teams as last year. But I think with so many new guys wanting to play the fair thing to do would be to re-do all the teams. Last year there was a sign up period and then the list was reviewed by Lou and myself. We knew most of the guys so we divided the teams as evenly as we thought from the list. The teams were pretty balanced because it came down to one bird determining the final winner. The way we use 10X each spur length and 2X beard length keeps the scores close unless someone kills a good multi-bearded bird. That did not happen last year. I offered to help again this year and not be on a team. But if someone wants to do it differently and be in charge you certainly will not offend me.

I guess before we get much further along we need to get Porter's thoughts and approval.
