I had to.....

try it out. I recently picked up one of the carbide lathe tools and it showed up on friday but it's been so stinkin cold in the north east that I didn't dare try turning in a unheated garage till today. The temp went up to about 24 from 8 below so I had to try it out as I've heard so many good things about these tools. What better woods to try it on than Desert Ironwood and Snakewood. The tool works great and I'm really pleased with the way it shaves off the wood plus the finished strikers turned out real nice.  Thanx for the look. Bill

I think those two woods are some of the prettiest wood out there. I'm sure your strickers are supurb!

They look great Bill!  Funny, I just ordered one of those lathe tools myself.  Should be here tomorrow.  Going to use it on some bloodwood.  Nice work Bill!
