Bragging a little
« on: January 08, 2012, 08:40:03 PM »
While I was away from the shop yesterday working on my truck, my brother decided to drop by unannounced and help himself to my call box. Got a mallard call, a deer grunter ( for my niece so that isnt bad), a trumpet ( for what, heaven only knows as he has no clue how to use one) and my LAST copper call! :cussing:  Oh well, I lucked into some pretty spectacular wood today, so I made two new copper calls. The first is a piece of mango. The grain and figure is remarkable.

This next one is truly amazing. I got the wood from Harold Fowler that he cut over 20 years ago from his hunting property. I have cut a lot of flame box elder, but none as beautiful as this. Fortuntely, I have a lot of this to make several calls from, so this wont be the last

Nice calls Lee, I got some of that Box Elder from Harold myself. Turned a couple pots and think I'll give him one at Nashville. Not quite as red but purrr D stuff all the same.  *up* *up*
