My "OTHER ADDICTION..."
« on: December 23, 2011, 06:30:44 PM »
I have spoken with some of you about the 1954 Bel Air Chevrolet that I have been restoring.  Well, she's finally pretty much road ready!  This car was bought new by my paternal grandfather when I was 6 years old.  It was the car in which I learned to drive, which was no really big deal, because I'd been driving tractors ever since I could reach the clutch.  The car had been stored in a garage and not cranked for over 20 years, so it took several months of mechanical work, but the paint is in great shape and only needed about a ton of "elbow grease."  I took my grandchildren for a short ride while I was working on it, so now, SIX GENERATIONS of my family have ridden in it! It is not going to be a show car; I restored it to so I could have fun DRIVING it!  Maybe now I can dedicate some more spare time to my calls!

A great piece of history that will hopefully be handed down and respected for many more generations as well Tom.  Do you have before and after pictures of the restoration?  Regardless, she is a beauty!  *cheers*
