idle hands are lucifer's workshop
« on: November 10, 2011, 01:34:08 PM »
several months back, packfan and i were talking, as we did weekly.  he mentioned to me that i needed to get on frank's list, for one of his trumpets.  personally, i wasn't too concerned about doing so and told him as much.  i knew frank made a good trumpet, but i wasn't looking to get one.  fast forward a few weeks and while pack and i are talking, he mentions that he put my name on the list.  again, i mention that i was not looking to get a call from frank, but he said it was a gift and that i owed him nothing in return.  just as mkw had done, i tried to decline, but as we were friends, he wouldn't have what i was saying.

at any rate, he asked what wood combination etc. i wanted and i told him- cocobola with a silver ferrule and ivory mouthpiece.  so it was settled and when it was ready, which was to be late summer, i would get the call.  low and behold and some of you aren't going to believe this, but frank had a falling out with someone...just so happens it was with packfan.  knowing that my name would most certainly be erased off the list, i sent frank a pm asking him if the call was about ready and he essentially told me that i was not getting a call, at least not as a gift.  if i wanted a call, i would need to call him and then be put on the list, just not where i had been.

this call is exactly as the one that was originally ordered.  the call didn't come directly from lucifer, but from a much less sinister character, that being packfan.  thanks again for the call, scott.
