Picked up a new revolver, wanted a new truck and trail gun that was built like a tank, and the Ruger SP101 in the new .327 Federal Magnum fit that bill perfect.   *dance*

Here it is wearing new cocobolo grip panels.  What a great shooter this is, perfect size, and the .327 is a cool caliber.

Noticed this thread popped up from last fall.

UPDATE:  After putting a box or two through, I noticed a lot of blow back on my face, way too much for a revolver, and I had trouble ejecting empty casings.  Actually needed to tap the ejector rod on the bench to get the empties out.

I also noticed that some of the brass was splitting.  Now the 327 Federal Magnum is a very high pressure load, so it didn't surprise me that the brass would fail, but not this bad.  I determined that one of the six cylinder holes was giving me problems, so I indexed it and sent it back to Ruger.

I received an email update from Ruger saying they were replacing the gun, shipping a new serial number SP101 to my dealer.  No questions asked.

So with the nice weather yesterday I got to shoot the new SP101 and everything worked out just fine.  Nice having this piece back in the rotation.
