New Longboxes
« on: August 31, 2011, 11:36:31 AM »
I recently made some changes to my longbox design.   Below are the first three.

#1, Canarywood over Mahogany (This ones mine)

#2, Cedar over Walnut (Now belongs to a forum member)

#3, Parquet Butternut with with Walnut Ends and Paddle. (This one just went out as a wedding gift to a longtime hunting buddy and his new bride)

Thanks for looking,
Todd

Those do look nice...do you think there is any advantage to what appears to be a marriage of a short box bottom and a long box principal design?  Just curious hearing it from the builder--thanks.  At least they don't flop over when you set them down.  Really like the single diamond checkering--elegant.  That parquet call is sweet.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I'm really happy with the new design.

Fargobox,  There is no real adavantage or disadvantage to the base.  (I just like the way it looks and feels) The base is not glued on like my short boxes.  It is intergral to the call body and formed when the sides are cut.
