Weddings Calls Part 1

No need to describe I guess, you all, or y'all as some of you say know the wood combos mostly just by looking, but there are a couple you may not know.  The 1st, okay wait for it...is Basswood, yep Basswood he said, with a Walnut lid and has Ebony spacers, Zebrawood end blocks and Basswood inlays in the lid and sandwiched in the Walnut base.  I acquired a mess of this stuff for free and thought it looked too good not to try it, well they'll be more Basswood calls coming out of my shop for sure--this is a call with plenty of bark!!



Next is a purpleheart lid with quartersawn sycamore inlays on a red cedar box with purpleheart inlays and quartersawn sycamore end  resting on a purpleheart base with sycamore between.  As you know Red Cedar is tough to beat with Purpleheart and this is a great example with a ton of old hen rasp and some solid gobbler yelps.  Purring on this call just about happens on its own.  Love this combo.
