Well- the tree was at least 19 years old...

Can't get a true age, because I think you turned some of the rings away 

Did you make this one after people told you not to make calls end grain??

Then it was green when you turned it too........

Looks kinda pinkish brown to me.....

If you sliced it off the tree.........and not dry it was "GREEN WOOD" not the color green.......My monitor is in color ya' know.........

The term "GREEN WOOD" ...........means "WET"...........or not Dry........Dogwood is notoriously bad about cracking/warping as it dries...........

perhaps this will help you understand... why you don't put a solid surface in a "GREEN" piece of wood.. It is a very good read

Really appreciate the educational info.... I must have used some of that un-notorius dogwood cause I can't find any cracks.......

 If you need some dry dogwood let me know I got a fair amount Cut it up 2 years ago......... ...............NEVER build a call from Green wood..... the wood is going to shrink and cause problems........period.......
