One and Done
« on: August 15, 2011, 09:39:54 AM »
Put one round through the 26 inch Rem 870 20g yesterday with the Fed HW 7s and a Angle Port Ballistic Specialties Turkey Tube..

101 in the ten ring at 40.. Very even out to 15 inch no core density what so ever..

Not worth the 80 bucks

Wow I figured you'd beat my 870 JR with those shells.  I just shot my newest choke the other day and only got to shoot one round... but I loved it's pattern!

Sal and I both shoot 870 20s.. Hers sports a 20 inch barrel and mine a 26.. Both with a SSX 550 and HW 7s average in the HIgh 140s low 150s..

I wonder how that tube would do with other types of heavier than lead offerings?

That's about what I get with the Rem SF choke I have.  I get more with an very tight IC choke out of my gun, but this latest choke seems to be doing a more evenly thrown pattern and in that neighborhood too!

Hard to make a change when you are getting those numbers with those guns.  I love my 20!

Thank you for letting me try it.. I did not know you were on Osage.. .554 seems like it should do better in my gun as it likes the tighter chokes with the Fed 7s..
