Help for Traveling Hunters...Sundays?
« on: August 12, 2011, 06:01:29 PM »
For you folks starting to plan next spring's schedule, here are the states that don't allow Sunday hunting:

CT, DE, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NC, PA, RI, SC, VA, and WV

I think that's all. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You've been busy Doc!  There are a few counties in WV that allow Sunday hunting on PRIVATE LAND ONLY.  . It is up to the counties to decide by vote.   Copy and paste from WVDNR website.

Quote
Sunday Hunting
In any county where Sunday hunting has not been prohibited by local election, Sunday hunting is legal on private land only with written permission of the landowner. Hunting is prohibited on any Sunday (September 11, 18 & 25, 2011, November 20, 2011, December 4 & 11, 2011, and April 22, 2012) preceding the Monday opening of a big game season.

For a current list of counties open to Sunday hunting, visit www.wvdnr.gov/Hunting/SundayHunt.shtm or check with your county DNR officer or county clerk.

That kind of catches me off guard there.  Those are all mainly Northern states and I figured it would be more Southern states
