KYTURKEY, you may hate Florida State but remember one thing Florida State equals money. This whole SEC expansion thing is about an SEC championship game, SEC TV which all means money. It's ALL about money, not who likes who.

Not sure where you heard that GT's fans are passionate. They don't even sell out their little stadium in the heart of Atlanta.  GT brings the SEC nothing, in terms of getting into a new market, or generating much revenue.

I lived in Atlanta for over 20 years and I'm fully aware of Tech's fan base as I've spent a few afternoons in Bobby Dodd stadium.  Tech still averages 46,000+ people at home games against some of the most miserable teams in college football.  This is only 10% less attendance than Ole Miss, Miss ST, and Kentucky.

Who would pay money to see anyone take on Duke or Wake Forest in football?  I'm convinced in a city as large and with as many non-native transplants as Atlanta has that Georgia Tech would benefit tremendously from SEC competition.  Dont forget, the SEC travels well and to be sure a visiting UGA, Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, or Florida would be a huge draw.  Easily offsetting that 10% we discussed earlier.

Plus Tech is one of the highest rated public universities in the country and currently ahead of any school in the SEC.  I'd argue that Tech would be a real victory for the conference...

Any team would benefit from sec competition.  I see zero benefit of bringing GT in. This is about money and GT isn't gonna help with that. I still live i  Atlanta and GT's fan base is pathetic. They try all sorts of gimmicks to fill the seats and it still isn't working.

West Augusta, I realize it's all about money. As I said before, the FSU thing is a selfish act on my behalf. How can I like them when I am a Florida fan?  We have to remember that this is all pretty much hinging on the Texas state government and whether they will let Texas A&M leave the big 12 or not

Wiltznucs....I just saw this and there's no way they would kick Kentucky out of the SEC....  *wha* Not a one sport league. I know Ky's not the powerhouse in football..... More like a door mat. KyHunter is right, Basketball is King here anyway by October were done with football and it's time to go to Rupp Arena. Kentucky is the winningest basketball program in the Country period *bowing*, Fans travel really well (even for the football also) and spend where they go so that covers the money thing.  I must say Ky is slowing getting better each year with the pigskin and I know we will give a solid 3 quarters before we give it back and lose a close one in the end. *up* We will upset someone for sure this year.... Hoping it's FL or Tenn. or both, but still a long tuff rough road ahead. But when it time for the basketball to hits the court....."Kentucky Rules" the SEC!

Kyhunter for you to live in Lexington, KY and be a gator fan and a KY hater... >!!... You must be from out of town my friend and it time to go back to Louisville were you belong with your thoughts about KY are shared with all the other hater's here....  *peep*  ;D J/K  ROTFLMBO

Sorry about my rant, but I'm one of those rabid blueblooded Kentucky Fan  RkLu

No to GT..... I'd like to have Louisville in the SEC..... They make money and I Love Kicking Louisvillle Cardinals AZZes

                               " Rabid KY Fan"

I don't see Kentucky being pushed out, but see no benefit in grabbing Louisville either. Kentucky might be a basketball state, but the sec is not a basketball conference, nor is that the push. The money is in football, plain and simple. There is no comparing SEC football and SEC basketball, from a fan, nor revenue perspective.

B-Ready, the reason I am not a UK fan is in your earlier response. The UK fans give up on the football team come October, then turn around and wonder why they never get any better. And wonder why UK can't getthe best recruits in football. The kids playing the game hear this and they give up to because they know the fans dont care about them. The fans are the reason I am not a fan of UK. They are te most hypocritical people in the world. They love it when everything is going great, but once UK loses a few games they are ready to fire everybody and start over. Plus they always think the NCAA is out to get UK. B-Ready, I'm not from Louisville. I was born and raised in Harrodsburg, and now live in Wilmore. LOL.

The problem with Ky football IMO is the lack of winning. I can give you so many cases were they had the game won and at the last minute..... Just plain lost it. Like you said Fans support football or any of the sports if there winner's. Not interested seeing a bunch of losers play.. That why Ky doesn't have a pro team of any kind. You got the fan base all wrong though. Other people know our passion about Basketball, 24/7/360 and they want to label you "rabid".... When you have the winningest program in history... There again called " Rabid."... there's going to be passion for winning... That at any school.. I can label Gators fans and many other schools just as crazy and "Rabid" about football as we are about our Basketball.... I'm proud to be a Rabid UK fan!!  *cheers*

Espn: Just said they will announce Monday that the Auggie's will go to the SEC... 3 more team are being looked at also.

Just think of how different it would have been in Kentucky, if all those years ago the university would have given Bear Bryant a Cadillac instead of a watch. UK would have been a powerhouse in both football and basketball. I'm sure any other schools fans are as bad as UKs, but I don't live near them and have to hear everyday how great they are.

Well Ron, apparently you don't read real well. I said I'm sure other schools are as bad as UK fans, but I don't live near them, so I don't have to listen to them talk about how great they are. What school are you a fan of Ron?
