I posted the total after the last call was shipped out today. It is updated under Auction post under the auction tab. I referred to a little about what this gentlemans question was. I did get a pm asking if I got the pm hunter1018 posted---they(copies of that post) were flying around in his defense from the other post that was deleted.
Bobs relpy was dead on---Porter never knew about this in the begining, it was done entirely vounteraly by members as a way to help the site for all. Porter nor any of us ever asked for donations, guys heard about it and contacted to donate.
All the money is accounted for and Porter does not have control of as he requested from the very begining. This is a very important fact to remember here.

Well I for one did not donate. Had plans to but just didn't have the time to work on a call for the Auction. Oh well there is always another time. I sure tried to bid every call I could up on that auction and DARN it I didn't get a one of em.  
Those calls were willingly donated. Because the makers enjoy the freedom and atmosphere of this site. Unlike other sites who call makers who don't pony up for advertising or offer fringe benefits to the site owners.  We like to come here and post for the benefit of all. What's the matter with Porter's room? Looks a lot like mine I can see close to thirty calls right here around my computer. Were all Nerd's like Porter or we wouldn't be here!!!! We have an addiction to calls and turkeys, this is the place we gather to discuss both! I hope your got you needed info  .

PS: I hope you stick around and enjoy the place more!!! Just quit stirring up  .

If I honestly thought there was an ounce of truth to these rumors I would not have a account on here. Porter is a honest guy through and through.

Self conscious trouble makers will always make and spread rumors.... remember high school?

I got that PM from someone  and don't know who they are...so I figured I'd ask over here. Not sure if anyone remeber the CCO days when it seemed every fundraiser was a scam...so not knowing I asked...I see no problem with that. As long as the money goes to where it is said then it's no skin off my nose

I am one of the call makers that donated to the auction. I can tell you right now if I thought for one minute these funds were going to be used for anything other than to better the site you can bet my donation would have been non-existant. I really enjoy coming here and seeing all the talent that resides here and to talk turkey and am thankful that I could help out. For any nay sayers that want to start   if you don't have concrete proof to back what you are drumming up go away. Send a pm and keep it private.

Feel ole Rob may need the benefit of the doubt here. His question may have been honest and ligitimate as I know someone that was copied just as Rob stated in his post about that deffinate malicious post from the other evening that was rightfully removed----non of us need that   here.
Nothing wrong with a good honest question as long as its intention is right to begin with.
If I owe ya a appology here Rob...let me be the first to offer it up for seeing that post as malicious and not honest man. Hope no damage was done man !!!!

Sorry guys in a brief nutshell I'll explain.  Is there any truth to this... no... what I find comical is when someone brings my name down and the sites, but does no background checks on who I really am.  Yes we all know I'm a geek at heart... how many people know what my degree is in... I bet none of you can guess.  Bet none of you can guess what my first job was either?  You know what the real love of my life is... nope not going to get that either.

Let me explain it right here....  I've audited more cities, departments, and governments than probably all of you combined...  Not bragging, but when you go through the accounting program I have, you know one thing... checks and balances.  It's the only way to have respect and show funds are not being abused.  From day one, I said I would not accept the funds.  Several members here know that and many know why I said that.  To be fair and run a great site, it was needed to be done.  You had to have some separation of the money from me too.  Otherwise I knew people like the original pot stirrer would say I would be using the money for calls.  It's kind of like the "rumor" I always here I receive free calls.  I pay my way... it's the only way I do business with people!  

So is it true, not at all.  It's someone that is upset at me and thinks they know everything.  Whoever posted has very "old" information and to be honest, I had a good chuckle over it.  I would expect someone that is going to drag my name down, to do more research, but then again, they were very lazy about it.  Probably showed their true intellect.  

Wow after typing that, sometimes I wonder why I got out of auditing for....  Maybe a good audit of the original poster is in store... oh and I know you are still viewing this and yes I know who you are  It's lovely to have a server of your own (not one that is your friends  )  You know.. .nah I'm glad I'm a geek at heart  

What I find hard to believe is PORTER typed all this without one Porterizm.

Wonder if this Porter character is going to buy a Porche or a Toyota with all this auction money... from reading the posts it is very clear that all money is accounted for.  Sort of crazy how people get so upset over such a trivial amount money.  Truth is moderating this site is probably a ton of work and probably very little reward for doing so.  Especially when you have people adding their false info.  I feel as though Porter should get all the money now for having to listen to this crap.  Put it towards a Toyota.

If anybody has the right be pissed about the auction it would be me. I donated one of my best locust strikers. I purchased two top of the line turkey calls that I am extremely happy with. I am confident in where the money is and how it is going to be used.

I bid on the black locust striker and put $200 on it thinking that nobody would challenge me on that..  Went to dinner with my wife and bam lost it by 1 penny in the last second.  I really didn't think anyone out there was as crazy as me.  Had I known I would have put $300.. Trumpetyelper, you don't know how good that makes me feel to hear that. This is why I hand make and tune my strikers and love every minute of it. To date I have had only one complaint and sadly wasn't able to rectify the issue. Maybe someday.
