Well its that time of year again, and believe it or not college football kicks off in only one month...

The CCO Pickem' contest has been going for four years now and last year marked the greatest participation ever.  The game was competitive from start to finish, and everyone who participated walked away with something.

I really enjoyed hearing from all the entrants and how much they enjoyed trading calls and whatnot with other members.

So after some thought, I've decided to keep the rules just as they were last year.

This year all entrants are expected to provide something for the pot of winnings.  When the entrant signs up, they will post/list what they are putting in the pot and hopefully a picture as well.  Rather than a winner takes all contest, the first place winner will get the first choice of the prizes, the second place finisher the second choice, and so forth and so on..

There are only two rules, first... you have to enter something as a prize.  And secondly, when the selection of prizes comes around you cannot choose your own contribution.

In short, all you have to do is enter and so long as everyone honors their commitments your guaranteed to walk away with something.

I've got one heck of a call coming which I'll post in the future as my contribution.

Check back often and when the link is available to the Pick'em I'll get it posted here..

Thanks, and I look forward to beating my pal Clint once again this year... ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO

So, let's go Tigers and lets hear it for the Bulls..

Consider yourself lucky, I enrolled at USF just to increase your odds of being able to gloat. ROTFLMBO

In all seriousness, I've got a feeling LSU is going to beat ya'll like a red headed stepchild...  They'll be coming off the Oregon game and a game against a resurgent Miss ST program.  They'll either have a head full of steam and National title aspirations, or off a loss and with something to prove.  Either way, I dont like the way it looks for WVU.  I really like the way the LSU D-Line and secondary are shaping up.  Barring injuries I expect the LSU D will be in the Top 5 nationally at seasons end.

A bunch of LSU people are headed to Morgantown for the beatdown.  You going to be there?
One guy, a chef at a restaurant in Louisiana is even planning a charity breakfast for the families of the recent mine disasters.
A bunch of Mountaineer tailgaters will serve and clean up.  He is doing the cooking for the week.
They are working out the details.

This year is a big question for us.  Holgerson has a great reputation, but does he have the manpower to carry out his plan.
The Mountaineer faithful are excited.  Could be a good year.

I'd love to go and hope you enjoy time with the LSU faithful.  The LSU road fans are the cream of the crop and you'll have a great time.

I bought season tix for USF and will see WVU here in Tampa.  You should come on down, you're welcome to stop in at Casa Wiltznucs..

I'm thinking I may travel to see the LSU/Bama game..

We had a big group come down last time.  We'll see.  One thing about WVU, they travel well.

I am in as well. I already have one call for the competition and maybe a second one. I'll post pics as soon as I know for sure about the second call. As far as national championship aspirations Chad, that won't happen for LSU this year, not after they went on probation yesterday. As for me, I am concerned about my Gators. I don't know what kind of year we will have. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Just to be clear the probation has no effect on LSU's Bowl Games or National Title implications.  LSU's chances are as good as anyones..

LSU self reported and self imposed a stiffer penalty than the NCAA.

The player in question never wore an LSU jersey, and the Coach in question was fired immediately after his improprieties were exposed.

The NCAA commended LSU's compliance department as a model of how things should be done.

So LSU didn't get one of those USC or Bama type probations..  Little more than a slap on the wrist and the scholly losses wont matter as we gave up two last year voluntarily.  Most of the LSU faithful are very proud of how the University and Les Miles handled the situation.

Oh ok. Misunderstood the probation. Yeah, LSU should have a good shot at a title. I think the SEC as a whole is going to be down this year.

I think the balance of power remains in the SEC West.  LSU, Bama, and even Arky look pretty good.

The key to victory is to play every week, be consistent, and minimize your losses by making sure to pick your 8,9, and 10 point games correctly.  Each week you'll pick 10 games, and if you go 8 out of 10 thats great.  Unless you missed the 10 and 9 point games, at which point you're in the back of the pack.

Theres one major upset week each year where everyone takes a beating.  Theres no telling when its going to happen, but invariably it will happen.

Most of all... Have fun!  It's just a game and everybody wins something in this format.
