Mullberry tree has to go?(added Pics today)
« on: July 08, 2011, 10:33:14 PM »
A friend called me this week and ask if I want some mullberry wood. It seems his grandparents have 2 trees in thier yard 1 produces and 1 don't but they like them both. Here is whats up the tree that does not produce fruit is in the yard where the Direct TV people told them the best reception to the satilite is at...So grandmaw says its got to go...I'm going up tomorrow about 1 1/2 hr drive to cut it up for the wood. He says its about a foot across or larger at the base. I don't like to cut this time of the year but get it or they are going to burn it...Wish me luck....I'll have Pics...

Before ..See the dish?

Little Ford *cry* loaded to the top...

Boy this is some heavy wood..

Tuesday the fun begins Mill,Mill and more Mill

That was one fine specimen of a Mulberry tree. Get those ends sealed NOW!!! The wood checks very bad in the first few days! Some fine box calls coming in the future out to that one!!

Firedup and 3CB, what do you like to seal end logs like that?
I have some native walnut that they are cutting shortly and I want to get it sealed quick.

Old cans of latex paint works the best! Slather it on there, let dry and do it again if the wood absorbs it.

Nice to see you save that one. Just had a tree guy drop off a log of spalted elm then came back the next day with a BIG piece of box elder and a bunch on smaller pieces. So I got to go out and build a new solar kiln in a hurry. Hope to start loading it this week plus I am dropping a locust by my house to add to the fun.
